11/11/2022 Renovation and life (a science experiment): 1 year later, a pictorial

Moving in, Oct. 31, 2021
One year later
The future generator/freezer room
1 yr later: genni/freezer room awaiting stucco and trim
One dog: Clair de Lune
1 year later: 2 dogs: Zane Gray & Clair de Lune in a rare snuggle
Well vault being installed in Feb. 2022
1 year later: the well house and running water
No power
1 year later: The sun at work!
1 year later: The BIG solar array!
The eerie outhouse
1 year later: ” pit privy” improvements
1 year later: the #1 project in progress: hopefully will make the outhouse a thing of occasional use!
1 year later: Some things don’t change: our love of the outdoors!
Duck Lake south of Antonito, CO
1 year later: Fall colors still impress.
1 year later: the cliff hasn’t fallen down!

In the end, Alan and I choose to celebrate the positive, accept the negative, and live every day to the fullest until it’s over.

  1. I love the outdoors too, but you guys are my heros. Love reading about your determination to live off the grid. I enjoy reading this so much and I think you are awesome. xo, Lili
